    Ye Olde World

Europe, the old world, where all of Western culture originates from. Europe is the most visited continent on the planet. The number one most visited country in the world is France, and the second most visited country in the world is Spain. Travelling to Europe really is incredible and surprising. A continent comprised of so many cultures living side by side.

    Close neighbours

You only have to travel for a couple of hours to cross from one country into another. What is more surprising is how different the cultures are to one another. Although the French, Italian and Spanish languages are all romance languages, meaning they’re based off of the Latin language, the cultures and languages today are completely different.

    Origins

Coming from a country like Australia, a broad land with a small population, who all share the same predominantly spoken language, it is quite an amazing experience. And for a lot of people from different parts of the world it is the same. That is why Europe is one of the favoured tourist destinations in the world.

Some of the most popular countries to travel in Europe include:

    FranceSpainItalyGermanyAustriaGreecePortugalUnited KingdomIreland and Holland.

Growing in popularity now as a tourist destination because of its low price and brilliant culture is Eastern Europe:

Hungary; Czech Republic; Croatia; Bulgaria and Romania.

    How big?

Europe in terms of size it is slightly larger than mainland China. Geographically Europe is vast and varied, with many different islets and peninsulas.

    The best of the west

European history is long and varied and has had a profound impact on modern-Western culture. Western culture and European culture can be seen as distinct. With European pilgrims migrating to the New World in the 1600’s. Modern American culture has had a profound impact on the rest of the world through their media, music and literature.

In many ways it can be said that Western culture deviated from the extant European culture and has come to influence it again. Because of Europe’s rich culture and history, it makes it a popular destination for students. University’s often will have exchange problems between nations.

    Divergent Cultures

Look at the influence the U.S.A has had on the rest of the world through reinventions of stereotypical depictions of other countries cultures through their film mediums. How do people know what France is like if they’ve never been? They’ve seen it through American films most likely. And how do French people react when they see their own culture recreated and reconstrued back to them? Probably with mild amusement.

This is why to see a country properly, to know its essence and to feel what it is really like, you must travel there in person.

    Senior Travel Insurance Destination

Many seniors are travelling more than ever before, and of course a favoured holiday destination is Europe. Europe provides some of the best cuisine in the world, so many different kinds of cuisine in one area. You can eat Filet Mignon in France, Spaghetti Carbonara in Italy, Bratwursts in Germany and Goulash in Hungary.

    Europe Medical Travel Insurance

If you are in a rural or remote area, and the hospital you are taken to doesn’t have the adequate care for your condition, medical evacuation and repatriation, which is covered under all policies, will allow for the transfer of your persons from one hospital to another. Seniors deserve the best when they travel overseas, they’ve worked hard all their lives and now they’re trying to enjoy the fruits of their labours. In Europe, it is common for people to take cruises around the Mediterranean. If you are going to be cruising around the Mediterranean, your travel insurance policy will cover you, as cruise cover is included under all policies. The International Comprehensive travel insurance policy to Europe will also provide you with additional cruise coverage.

    Romance Abroad

Europe is also one of the most romantic places on the planet. With cities like Barcelona, Paris, Prague and countless others, it’s not hard to see why so many love stories are filmed and written here. It’s true, the Europeans love differently to the rest of us. Open and warm, this is how they are characterized. So different to us Australians, who for the majority of us get our cultural roots from the frigid British.

But we can learn to love like Europeans, if only for a fleeting moment, by spending time there. You can find love in Europe, or bolster your own, or avoid love altogether and gorge on food and drink – either way, you’ll have a wonderful time

    Car Rental Travel Insurance

Europe is also a large land mass. If it were a country, it would be larger than China, which is the fourth largest country in the world. With fifty sovereign nations on the continent, travelling by car is one great way to see the best the continent has to offer.
