    Medical Condition

    An existing medical condition is any medical condition which:

    At the time you buy your policy is:
    • chronic; or, 
    • displaying symptoms; or, 
    • under investigation; or, 
    • pending follow-up, consultation, treatment or surgery; or where these are recommended or planned; 
    • or metastatic; 
    • or terminal; or
    in the six months prior to the time you buy your policy there has been:
    • treatment by a medical practitioner; or 
    • medication prescribed; or 
    • surgery.

    Snow Sports

    If you are participating in Snow sports on your trip you need to add this option to be covered.

    By selecting this option, you’ll be charged an additional premium. You can uncheck this box if you do not wish to purchase this additional cover.

    Snow sports are defined as Snow skiing and snowboarding on and off piste, back country skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, telemark skiing.

    $0 Excess

    By selecting this option, you’ll be charged an additional premium. You can uncheck this box if you don't want to reduce your excess. Different excess options are available when you "Get a Quote".

    Variable excess option An excess is the amount that is deducted from your claim payout. A standard excess of $250 applies to most claims. By selecting this option, you have changed this amount to $0.

    Cruise

    Cruising is covered as standard. If the cruise only stops in one country, just select that country.

    If the cruise only visits stops within Australia, make sure you select the ‘Cruising – Australian Waters’ option and NOT just Australia.

    If you get sick aboard a cruise while traveling under one of our international policies, we can offer overseas medical cover on board, including if you contract Coronavirus during the trip. Make sure you’re following all relevant government and official advice. All policy terms, limits and exclusions apply, and you should be aware there are things we don’t cover, such as your cruise being cancelled by the provider due to an epidemic or pandemic.

    Running with the Bulls in Spain

    Run with the bulls or join with the crowds at the Festival of San Fermín in Pamplona. The famous 'running of the bulls' takes place in July and attracts huge numbers of tourists. Participating in Running with the Bulls is a general exclusion on all international policies.

    Pilgrim Walk in Spain

    Tread in the footsteps of pilgrims, along the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela a centre of pilgrimage since the early middle ages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The focal point for all visits is Santiago's gothic Cathedral completed in 1188. 

    National Parks in Spain

    There is plenty of water activities in Spain including - swimming, waterskiing and windsurfing facilities can be found at nearly all seaside resorts. Spain's premier windsurfing resort is Tarifa, where the world championships are held. Spain is also great for sailing, with plenty of harbours and sailing clubs to explore.

    Fishing in Spain 

    Cast a line and hook a fish. Excellent opportunities exist for all types of fishing - the rivers and streams of the Pyrenees and the Picos de Europa offer good freshwater game fishing, while trout are abundant throughout the country. Permits must be requested from the regional authorities.

    For the Golfing Enthusiasts  

    Golf is immensely popular, with Costa del Sol and La Manga emerging as two of Spain's premier golfing destinations. The Valderrama (near Madrid) is particularly well known. Spain has over 200 golf courses for you to venture through.

    Snow Skiing in Spain 

    There are many natural ski runs and winter resorts in Spain, all blessed with the promise of warm sun and blue skies. There are five main skiing regions including the Pyrenean and Cantabrian ranges. Check out the upland area of the Sierra Nevada, south of Granada.

    Bull Fighting in Spain

    If you fancy seeing a bull fight from the safety of your seat, go to Madrid, which is home to the imposing bullring of Las Ventas, also known as the 'Cathedral of Bullfighting'.
