Zorbing Travel Insurance
Fast becoming one of the most popular holiday adventure activities is zorbing. If you plan on using a zorb ball while overseas, you may wish to protect your health and holiday with travel insurance. Cover for zorbing is included in the Product Disclosure Statement.
Zorbing involves rolling around inside a large double layered plastic ball, which takes inspiration from the famous ‘hamster balls’, the balls that hamsters roll around in.
Zorbing Process
The rider, or Zorber, rolls down a slight incline or along a flat surface, the zorber has limited control of the Zorb itself. Zorbing is usually safe, but the zorber may often receive bruising or slight scratches as they bump into objects. The first official zorbing park was constructed in Rotorua,
New Zealand.
Strap In
A lot of Zorbs have straps inside to hold the riders in place. The ball is made of double layered plastic with air bubbles between each layer for buoyancy and flexibility. Rather than be made from hard plastic, the Zorb is made from a softer plastic and provides cushioning. Orbs usually have one or two entrances on either side, like a circular donut, for the zorber to enter from.
Where to Zorb
There are now Zorb parks established all around the world, the most popular Zorb destinations are in New Zealand. But anywhere you go around the world, where there are adventure activities and parks, zorbing is not far behind.
Zorbing, like all adventure activities, is not without its risks – people have become concussed from zorbing, and in more serious circumstances, have seriously injuried. If you are travelling overseas, you should consider purchasing a travel insurance policy.
Zorb Safety
If you are going to Zorb, you should do it at an official Zorb park with safety officials present. One of the most important things to remember when taking part in adventure activities or sporting activities, is that safety is priority number one; safety goes hand in hand with travel insurance.
