Travel Insurance Saver provides a range of online travel insurance products that may cover rafting-related claimable events, based on the specific event and in accordance with the terms, conditions, and limitations set out in the current combined FSG and PDS. Travel insurance travel insurance cover options include overseas medical expenses, medical evacuation, and repatriation, with travel insurance cover limits varying by the chosen plan. Claims are assessed on a case-by-case basis:
- Bare Essentials: $250,000 for Medical Evacuation and Repatriation.
- Essentials: $500,000 for Medical Evacuation and Repatriation.
- Comprehensive and Annual Multi-Trip: Unlimited Medical Evacuation and Repatriation.
Some conditions may apply to travel insurance when Rafting, Kayaking and Canoeing:
Cover may be available for raft/canoe/kayak related events depending on the event. Claims are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Rafting/canoeing/kayaking are not generally excluded under the Travel Insurance Saver PDS. However, other general exclusions, conditions and limitations may apply. To know what you are and are not covered for, make sure you have fully read and understood the Product Disclosure Statement.
General exclusions to consider, but not limited to, a loss arising from:
- A member of the travelling party intentionally and recklessly placing themselves in circumstances, or undertaking activities which pose a risk to their personal safety (except in an attempt to save a human life); or
- Excluded Activities - hunting, playing polo, racing (except on foot), mountaineering using support ropes, paragliding, rock climbing, abseiling, participating in BASE jumping, running with the bulls, or pot holing; or
- Professional Activities - participating in, or training for, a professional sporting activity.
For adventurers planning to partake in rafting, especially those traveling overseas multiple times within a year, an Annual Multi-Trip travel insurance plan from Travel Insurance Saver may be suitable depending on the trip details. This plan offers up to 45-days cover per trip within an annual period.

Travel insurance when Rafting, Kayaking and Canoeing by destination
To confirm travel insurance cover for a specific destination, destinations must be selected from the available list on the Travel Insurance Saver online quote panel during the quote process. Destinations that fall under the 'DO NOT TRAVEL' advisory from the Australian Government's Smart Traveller website will not display on the Travel Insurance Saver website and are not insurable.
Cancellation of prepaid travel arrangements
Cancellation and additional expenses travel insurance cover for prepaid rafting travel arrangements may also be necessary depending on the trip details.
The Bare Essentials plan offers a static $2,000 limit for cancellation and deferment costs, while the Essentials, Comprehensive, and Annual Multi-Trip plans provide options for adjustable limits, allowing for increased travel insurance cover at an additional premium.
