What is Covered - Pregnancy Travel Insurance
- Single, Uncomplicated Pregnancies: Coverage for single, uncomplicated pregnancies up to and including 23 weeks gestation, excluding pregnancies resulting from IVF or similar programs.
- Serious Pregnancy Complications: Coverage for serious complications of pregnancy that could not have been reasonably foreseen by a medical professional and endanger the life of the mother or unborn child, or could result in permanent disability to the child if untreated.
- Trip Cancellation or Curtailment due to Pregnancy: Coverage for cancellations if a pregnancy is confirmed during the insurance period and the expected birth is within 18 weeks of the scheduled return home, or if medical complications arise from the pregnancy (as certified by a doctor), and the expected birth is more than 18 weeks after the scheduled return.
What is Not Covered - Pregnancy Travel Insurance
- Childbirth: No coverage for childbirth at any stage.
- Regular Antenatal Care: No coverage for routine antenatal check-ups or care.
- Newborn Care: No coverage for any medical care required by the newborn child.
- Rhinitis: No coverage for conditions related to Rhinitis.
- Travel Against Medical Advice: No coverage for pregnancy complications if the insured person travels against their doctor's advice.
- Multiple Pregnancies: No coverage for complications arising from multiple pregnancies.
- Assisted Reproduction Pregnancies: No coverage for pregnancies resulting from IVF or similar programs.
- Pregnancies 23+ Weeks at Policy End: No coverage for pregnancy complications existing at the trip commencement if the pregnancy is 23 weeks or longer when the policy ends.
- Expected Birth Within 17 Weeks of Return: No coverage for pregnancy-related cancellations if the insured person expects to give birth within 17 weeks of completing the trip.

Travel Insurance Products for Pregnant Travel
There are a number of travel insurance products available from Travel Insurance Saver available for pregnant travellers going overseas.
Medical Only travel insurance product for pregnant travellers:
- Overseas emergency medical, surgical and hospital treatment and transportation, including repatriation to your home country if deemed medically necessary.
- Emergency dental treatment to natural teeth for immediate pain relief only, up to a specified limit.
- Additional travel and accommodation expenses if you are unable to continue your trip as planned due to a medical condition, and your return home is certified by a doctor.
- Additional travel and accommodation expenses if you are medically unfit to continue your trip but do not need to return home, and your illness or injury causes you to lose pre-paid accommodation.
- Additional travel and accommodation expenses for a travelling companion or relative to stay with you and accompany you home, if their presence is certified by a doctor as medically necessary.
- Repatriation of remains or funeral expenses in the event of death due to a medical condition during your trip.
