Travel Insurance for IEC
Travel Insurance Saver may be able to provide cover for up to two continuous 365-day periods – Travel insurance up to 24 months – Travel Insurance for Canada 2IEC.
If you are travelling for up to two years, or two continuous 365-day periods, it may be possible to take out two continuous travel insurance policies online.
You may, pending approval by nib Travel, take out two travel plans before your date of departure, allowing for a period of cover that spans two continuous 365-day periods. As in, the return date of your first travel insurance policy coincides with the date of departure of your second travel insurance policy.
Definition of Trip
In the case of the Comprehensive, Essentials and Bare Essentials Plans: it means travel during the period between the departure date and the return date listed on your Certificate of Insurance. The trip must start or end at your home in Australia. The period of travel cannot be altered without the consent of nib Travel.
If you plan on taking out two continuous policies to cover two consecutive 365-day periods:
Your first policy must begin with your departure from your home in Australia, and if the first policy is to expire with you still travelling, your second policy’s return date must coincide with your return at your home in Australia. As above, the trip must start or end at your home in Australia, if your first trip policy starts with you in Australia, your second trip policy must end with your return at your home in Australia, as your second trip policy departure date will begin with you already travelling, therefore it must end with your return at your home in Australia.
Note: There is no ‘two-year travel insurance policy’; however, you may be able to take out two continuous travel insurance policies online to cover you for two consecutive 365-day periods.
Travel Insurance for IEC
If you are travelling to Canada for up to two years and require a 2IEC visa, you may be able to take out two continuous travel insurance policies online. If you are going to be taking part in Snow Sports while travelling in Canada, or any other country for that matter, you will need to add Snow Sports Optional Extra to applicable policies (Comprehensive for 2IEC).
